From the stunning abs of Katrina Kaif, flaunted so graciously in the song ‘Kamil’ and ‘Kala Chasma’ to Malaika Arora Khan’s curves – we envy every Bollywood diva and their picture perfect figure. However, it is not so easy to look so flawless or effortless all the time. It involves dedication to training, proper diet, methodical lifestyle and much more. Every Bollywood diva has their own personal trainer who guides them accordingly which helps them to stay fit and fabulous. Herein is a compilation of the various fitness tips and techniques that we have gathered from their interviews in tabloids and get some inspiration to have such fit and healthy body ourselves.
1. Deepika Padukone
Deepika is one of the reigning queens of Bollywood and a former athlete. She is well known for her leggy, sizzling and curvaceous figure. She stated that she follows a very simple and lean diet along with proper exercise. She avoids junk, spicy and oily foods all the time. Deepika’s favorite foods are mainly South Indian dishes like upma, idli, dosa and she also avoids non-vegetarian dishes at night. One thing she is very strict about is her water intake and always keeps herself hydrated all the time. Apart from her diet, she performs yoga for half an hour every morning followed by a gym routine. She concentrates on improving her stamina and stability through push-ups, pull- ups, crunches, squats and light weight-training. Stretching exercises are also an integral part of her workout regime.
2. Bipasha Basu
Bipasha – the se*y bong bombshell is surely one of the hottest and fittest actresses in Bollywood. But do you know that she was diagnosed with arthritis? Well, after that she always maintained her physical fitness and she believes that sliming pills or excessive dieting will only make matters worse. Instead, she vows for a good and healthy, balanced diet and avoids junk food. She mainly works out on the treadmill, practices cycling and kick boxing. She even released a fitness DVD and emphasises on the importance of warming up before a proper workout.
3. Katrina Kaif
She may not be a movie critic’s favorite girl, but when it comes to a fit and fab body – you just can’t rule her out. From her flawless complexion to those perfect abs she flaunted in ‘Kala Chamsa’ – everything is mind blowing. Starting with her diet secrets, Katrina drinks minimum 4 glasses of water after she wakes up. She prefers taking food supplements derivatives from Acai Berry and Wheat Grass powder and avoids carbs as much as she can. She also likes to try various foods, but maintains their quantity at the same time. Katrina’s trainer, Yasmin Karachiwala says that she is more into the core and ab exercises as well as swimming and yoga to maintain that toned body.
4. Kareena Kapoor Khan
We have seen her in size zero and also in a curvaceous figure – either way, she looks hot and sizzling. She has always managed to balance between diet and exercise to maintain her fit and fabulous body. Firstly, she follows a strict diet plan where she starts the day with fruit juice or milk followed by simple homemade food for breakfast and lunch. She does yoga each and every day as part of her fitness regime. Her fitness regimen also involves cardio workouts and swimming.
5. Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika Arora Khan is the yummy mummy of Bollywood. Her envious figure is something every woman dreams of and the way she has maintained her even at this age is nothing short of glorious. She maintains a strict diet and keeps herself hydrated with coconut water, fruit juices, vegetable juices and water. Instead of coffee, she vouches for green tea and avoids carbs at dinner. She does yoga every day to keep herself fit and healthy. Her favorite asana is Surya Namaskar. Apart from that, she also works out thrice a week – mainly squats, kickboxing and body weights.
6. Priyanka Chopra
Our desi girl is nothing less than sensuous and we love the way she flaunts it. She always makes it a point working out and eating healthy foods, despite her busy schedule of juggling between Hollywood and Bollywood. She believes in eating in small quantities every two hours, which helps to digest the food better and prevent any accumulation of fats. She works out three to four times a week and also indulges in learning Gatka or desi martial arts. Her workout regime includes treadmill, cardio, running, spinning, push-ups and lunges.
7. Parineeti Chopra
She faced a lot of heat because of her weight in the initial days but of lately, she has been hitting the gym and has the perfect curves to die for. For this, she followed a routine of intense workout sessions and a strict diet plan to shed the extra kilos. For her warmup sessions, she jogs and does squats, followed by rigorous weight training, treadmill and core exercises. She is also learning a form of Kerala martial arts called Kalaripayattu. For her diet, she avoids oily, junk and carbs and takes her dinner at least two hours before bed which helps her metabolism a lot.
8. Shilpa Shetty
She is another fit mommy of Bollywood and has a figure to die for! She stunned everyone by losing 70kilos within few months post her pregnancy and for her fitness, she vouches for yoga. It helps her maintain a healthy and fit body along with that glow on the skin. She drinks aloe vera and amla juice each and every day as a detox and also 2-3 cups of green tea. She consumes her meals at least 2-3hours before hitting the bed to prevent them from being accumulated as fats. Shilpa trains under Vinod Channa with light workouts such as cycling, walking, and light weights for around 30mins thrice a week.
