So how’s your week been? Mine has been pretty hectic but I did manage to squeeze in a little time to go watch Mission Impossible – Rouge Nation which BTW is one of the best movies I’ve watched this year! 😀 Have you watched it? Let me know in the comments 🙂 Anyway, coming onto today’s post, I’ll be reviewing the MAC Amplified Creme Lipstick in the shade Chatterbox. As I shared in my latest shopping haul post, I bought this lipstick a few weeks back and have been wearing it ever since. Read on to know what’s keeping me hooked to this one
The lipstick comes in a typical mac lipsticks’ sturdy black packaging. As is common with most of the other MAC lipsticks, it has a very faint vanilla fragrance which you can only detect if you sniff it directly from the bullet but is hardly detectable on the lips.
It belongs to MAC’s Amplified Creme range which explains its ultra-creamy formula that glides on the lips like butter. The creamy formula doesn’t just sit on top of the lips but actually feels hydrating and at the same time comfortable, and so is a great option for girls with dry lips. The shade is very highly pigmented and goes opaque in one single swipe (refer to the swatch picture below). Because of its creamy texture, its staying power is about average and it stays on my lips for about 3-4 hours with light snacks/drinks in between. It certainly doesn’t survive a meal and you do need a re-application post that. In contrast to MAC Impassioned from the same range, it does not highlight the fine lines on the lips.
Coming onto the shade, it is a light baby pink which has a slightly cool-tone to it. The cool-tone is not that much and I feel that most girls with warm complexions will easily be able to pull it off. The finish of the lipstick is a bit on the glossy side and is certainly not a matte. It is a very wearable shade of pink which doesn’t grab a lot of attention yet imparts a subtle, youthful glow to the face. Great for everyday wear! I do feel however that this shade would be best suited for the light to medium complexioned girls so if you are on the duskier side, I would suggest you to first try it out at the store and in natural light before you purchase it.

The shade is one of the prettiest and most wearable shades of pink! It does resemble NYX’s Round Lipstick in Fig but the formula sets both of them quite apart. So if you love NYX’s Fig but are not a fan of the formula, you must check this shade out! It is near perfect in terms of the shade, pigmentation and the formula but does have an average staying power. If you are looking for a soft pink lipstick, do check it out. Highly recommended!
