Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm- Pink Shock Review

Hi Everyone

Today I am going to review the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm in Pink Shock. The other day I was in the market looking for a lip balm to heal and hydrate my dry chapped lips. Seeing its cute packaging and the ‘baby lips’ claim, I decided to buy it. So lets get to the review to know if it healed my lips and lived upto its claims.

Product Claims:

Maybelline claims this about the product on their website “Give your lips an eye-catching neon twist with Maybelline New York’s Baby Lips Electro Lip Balms

Maybelline brings the ‘neon lip trend,’ spotted at New York and Paris Fall Fashion weeks to India by launching a range of bright, vibrant neon lip balms.

Enriched with Maybelline New York’s exclusive Botanical Cell Repair Concentrate and a blend of effective ingredients like honey, Shea butter and collagen, these flavoured lip balms hydrate and soften lips and keep them smooth for up to 8 hours. Smear on these eye-catching, glossy, neon lips balms and create your own Neon & Electro Style Statement!

My Review:

The Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm- Pink Shock comes in a twist-up black colored tube with a transparent cap. The top of the cap is the same color as the lip balm which makes it easy to identify the product when you’re in a hurry. The packaging is quite cute! Although I don’t like the fact that when the product is new and unused, the top portion of the lip balm does not retract completely. So whenever I am putting the cap back on, some of the balm gets smeared on the cap and spoils the product.

Anyways, coming to product itself, it has a sweet watermelon-like fragrance. Some people might like the fragrance but I personally don’t like it much. I would have rather preferred if it came fragrance-free. The best thing I like about this product is the color payoff. For a lip balm, it has a pretty amazing color payoff. It applies evenly and gives the lips a beautiful rose pink-colored tint. It is a universally flattering color and should suit everyone. What I do not like about this product is that it does not moisturise the lips enough. In winters, my lips tend to dry a bit and I find that this lip balm does not help with that. I am not saying it doesn’t moisturise at all. It does moisturise but only to a small extent.

The Good about Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm Pink Shock:

– Cute packaging

– Transparent cap and a colored top helps to easily identify the product

– The color payoff is amazing

– Inexpensive

The Not-So-Good about Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm Pink Shock:

– I don’t care much for the fragrance.

– The ‘baby lips’ claim is stretched too far. It doesn’t hydrate the lips much. Will not be suitable for dry lips.

– It only lasts for 2-3 hours as opposed to the ‘8 hour claim’

– No SPF

Overall Comments:

The Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop Lip Balm-Pink Shock gives a lovely color to the lips and will look good on most people. But it does not hydrate the lips well enough and the ‘baby lips’ claim is stretched a bit too far. Try it if you are looking for a tinted lip balm with a subtle hydrating effect. Skip it if you have dry lips and are looking for moisture-rich formula.
