Maybelline launched the Rebel Bouquet Lipsticks as a part of their spring/summer 2015 collection. Six beautiful shades were launched and I am going to review one of them, the REB 05, today.
This range of six flirty, edgy and fresh floral shades is perfectly in-sync with this season. The Rebel Bouquet lipsticks consist of pure pastel bright pigments that give crisp and rich colour. The colour bloom technology with honey nectar formula makes the texture feel creamier and softer on the lips. Now pout in the most gorgeous shades.
Here’s why you’ll love it:
– Rich and bright colors
– Creamy and soft technology
– Bold pastel shades from the runway
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a silver colored packaging with a bright orangish-red cap. All the lipsticks from this range come in a similar packaging so it might be quite a task to find a specific one, if you own more than one of these. On the plus side, the packaging has a big color-coded label along with the name of the shade at the base which makes locating it a little easier. Otherwise, the packaging is quite sturdy and the cap closes with a click. This makes the lipstick quite easy to bring along in your purse without having to worry about the lid opening and ruining the lipstick.
Formula/Texture: The texture of this is buttery smooth and glides on without tugging on the lips. It has no fragrance at all which is a boon for those with a sensitive nose. The formula itself is moisturizing and quite comfortable to wear for girls with dry lips such as mine.
Pigmentation/Finish: It has an average pigmentation which goes sheer in a single swipe. But the formula is buildable and 2-3 swipes are enough to cover pigmented lips. The average pigmentation is actually a good thing as it allows you to control the intensity of this lip shade. The lipstick itself has a glossy finish but it can be blotted down with a tissue into a semi-matte finish, if you prefer the matte look.
Longevity: On my lips, this shade lasts for about 3-4 hours with mild snacks/drinks in between. It does have a tendency to spread out a little outside the lip but nothing a little lip liner can’t fix. Afterwards, it leaves a light tint on the lips.
Shade: This lipstick is of a warm bright orange color. It is quite a balanced shade and isn’t too yellow like some other orange lipsticks in the market which can make your complexion look sallow. It will suit girls with fair to medium skintones but might not suit darker-skinned beauties. You can see how it looks on my lips in the picture below. For reference, I am NC 30/35 in MAC.
Maybelline Rebel Bouquet Lipstick in REB05 is a beautiful orange-colored lipstick with a glossy finish. The formula is smooth and moisturising. It has an average pigmentation which allows you build as much intensity as you want. Go for it if you are looking for a great budget-friendly orange lip shade. Recommended!
