Review

The liquid eyeliner comes in a little, black-colored plastic packaging which is small, spill-proof and convenient to carry around. The applicator that comes with this eyeliner is a thin, sharp felt-tip applicator. It is actually one of the best things about this product since it is very easy to draw a fine line with it and is also sturdy enough to hold its shape when you draw the wing. Hence resulting in a clean and crisp application everytime.

It sets fast, in about 30 seconds and dries down to an almost completely matte finish. It is highly pigmented and has a jet black color. The good thing about this product when you compare it some of the other ones available in the market is that even on setting, the eyeliner does not lose its intense black shade. The eyeliner does not budge by itself and I can get a good wear of about 5-6 hours easily. However, it isn’t smudge-proof and waterproof as claimed. If you happen to touch your eyes a lot or rub the eyeliner, it will flake away. If you hold it under water or wash your face with this on your eyes, it won’t smear but again, very easily just flake away. This makes it a great product for beginners who are just starting out with winged eyeliner. Because even after the product has set, you can easily take a q-tip with some lotion or makeup remover on it and clean your eyeliner along the edges to give you a crisp line. This property also ensures that it is quite easily removed so you don’t need any waterproof makeup removers to remove it. On the other hand, if you tend to touch your eyes a lot, you had rather stay away from this product.

Overall Thoughts

Sugar Eye Told You So! Waterproof Eyeliner- 01 Black Swan is a highly pigmented liquid eyeliner that sets fast and has a matte, jet black finish. Its felt tip applicator is thin enough to enable thin as well as thick eyeliner application. It is however not smudge-free nor waterproof and will flake off if rubbed or put under water. I feel its price is a little high considering the market is flooded with similar eyeliners at a much more inexpensive price but if you love an absolute matte finish eyeliner with a jet black shade, you must give this product a try!

Hi Shilpa! I know!!! The blackness of this eyeliner is to die for 😀 I haven’t had any experience in it flaking by itself but yes, I am scared to touch my eyes when I have this on :/

Wow! That’s the blackness I love in my liner! I am suddenly not so happy with the Maybelline Gel liner I am using and might give this one a go. Moreover, that it can be washed out easily also works better for me.

Sure Saloni you must try it! Unfortunately I had puffy eyes from sinusitis when I wrote this post so wasn’t able to do an EOTD for this look. But surely I’ll be doing a look with this eyeliner soon 🙂
