beauty hacksHi girls! I am back with Part 2 of the post I had written a couple days ago which you can read here. So lets get going…

1. No More Hair Colouring Mishaps

While colouring your hair at home, if you get color on your forehead, ears or anywhere you didn’t desire, take a cotton swab dipped in aftershave and rub it over the spot. It will take care of the rest! This trick is so effective that once I used it to clean some hair color stains I had gotten on my favourite top.

2. Aspirin For Blemishes

Crush 2 aspirin tablets and add a few drops of water to it. Use this as a face mask to keep your skin clear of acne and blemishes. Alternatively, you can also use it as a spot treatment for existing acne too. P.S- Remember not to use it very often as the aspirin does get absorbed into your skin.

3. Get Luscious Lips Naturally

Make a lip plumping scrub at home by combining a 50:50 ratio of cinnamon powder and honey in an old eye-cream jar. Store it in the fridge and use it as often as desired. Cinnamon irritates the lip and causes blood to rush towards them, giving them a plump-effect. Honey will moisturize any dead skin.

4. Some Almond Meal For The Nails

This is probably my favourite of the bunch! Take some almond meal and rub it on your nails for 1- 2 minutes. It will result in the healthiest, shiniest and smoothest nails possible. To make almond meal, take a few almonds that have been dipped overnight in water and grind them in a mixer/ grinder until you’re left with a powder. It gently polishes the nails, nourishes the dry cuticles and leaves them with an incredible shine. Try it you’ll be amazed!

5. For Thick Eyelashes That Seem Fake…But Aren’t!

Keep some castor oil in an old eye-cream jar by your bedside. Just before sleeping, apply a little castor oil to your eyelashes to encourage hair growth. Soon you’ll have thick and long eyelashes you’ve always wanted.

6. Hair Spa At Home

Give yourself a mini hair spa. Put some of your favourite oil/ deep conditioner in your hair. Now wet 2 towels in hot water and squeeze excess water. Wrap them alternately around your head keeping each for 1- 2 minutes at a time. The steam from the towels will open your pores and help the oil/ conditioner to penetrate better.

Too lazy for the wet towel mess? Instead of wet towels, use a hair dryer on high heat and blast some hot air on your head after applying your oil/ conditioner. Use it for a couple minutes and cover the head with a shower cap for 30- 45 minutes.

7. Give Yourself a Green Tea Facial

Boil some water and transfer it to an open vessel. Tear open 1- 2 green tea bags and add them to the water. Drape a towel over your head and hold your face over the steam. It will clean and rejuvenate the skin by giving an antioxidant boost to skin. You can use used green tea bags for this too.

8. Honey Hair Rinse

Take one teaspoon of honey dissolved in warm water and use it as a hair rinse after your usual shampoo+conditioner routine. Keep for 30 secs- 1 min and rinse with cold water. It will make your hair very soft and shiny.

9. No More Waiting for Nail Paints To Dry

To speed up the drying time for your freshly applied nail paint, dip your fingers in ice-cold water. The colder the water, the sooner it will dry.

10. For that model-worthy skin

If you’ve dreamt of having the same glow and clarity a model’s skin seems to have, add a glass of wheatgrass juice to your daily routine. Ofcourse there are other aspects to having a complete nutrition but this one will certainly give it a boost. Have a glass of wheatgrass juice first thing in the morning (or on an empty stomach, if during the day). It is loaded with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins and antioxidants. In short, its a cheatsheet to get that perfect skin. Wheatgrass powder is available at super stores or you can grow wheatgrass in the comfort of your homes too. If you’d like to know how I grow wheatgrass at home, let me know in the comments below.
