Do you suffer from lip pigmentation? If yes, then I must get some kudos from you because today I will be talking about natural remedies for lip pigmentations. As lips are not extremely sensitive like the rest of our face; we often treat our lips harshly. We rub them vigorously to remove lip makeup or bite them pretty badly when we are anxious (happens every time with me☹). And then our lips lose their original pigment and start getting dark. It takes just a few precautions and a simple lip care routine to avoid this situation entirely. Today I will be sharing some natural lip scrub and lip moisturizers that will serve as natural remedies for treatment for pigmented lips. Please read on to find more.
DIY Natural Lip Moisturizers
1. Glycerine-Rose water-Tomato Lip Moisture
Glycerine + rose water is a widely used home remedy for dry lips. When we add tomato juice in the concoction, it helps to cure lip pigmentation problems too. Being rich in Vitamin C tomato is a good skin lightening agent.
How to Prepare: Take 1/2 tablespoon glycerine in a sterile container. Add 3/4 tablespoon of rose water and ½ tablespoon pulp-free tomato juice to it and mix all ingredients together. Store it in the refrigerator and use as needed. Make in small batches each time and use within 1 week.

2. Shea butter-Bees wax Lip cream
Shea butter is a complex fat derived from the nut of African shea tree. Instead of shea butter you can also use mango butter here.
How to Prepare: Take 1 teaspoon beeswax and 1 teaspoon shea butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 15 seconds or until they melt. Now stir the mixture and pour into the container you want to store it in. Perform this step super quickly as the mixture starts to harden as soon as it is out of the heat. You can add a few drops your favourite essential oil if you like aromatic lip creams.
3. Vitamin-E lip gel
This recipe will make a light weight lip gel for daily use. You can use it as an overnight lip mask too.
How to Prepare: Take 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel in a sterile container. Prick a Vitamin-E capsule and squeeze out the gel from it into the container. Mix both the ingredients well to make your own Vitamin-E lip gel.
DIY Natural Lip Exfoliators
1. Castor-Olive-Coffee Lip Scrub
This is an excellent oil based lip defoliator for extremely dry and pigmented lips. If dryness related cell damage is the cause behind your dark lips then this DIY will give you good results with regular usage.
How to Prepare: Mix ¼ tablespoon castor oil and ¼ tablespoon olive oil together in a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon medium ground coffee to it and mix. Voila! Your lip scrub is ready. Store it in an airtight container and use 2-3 times a week.

2. Bubblegum Lip Scrub
Using this recipe you will be able to make an effective dupe for Lush’s famous Bubblegum lip scrub. Texture and colour wise both of the original and the dupe will be identical if you can find the right colouring substance.
How to Prepare: Take 1 tablespoon castor sugar and add ½ tablespoon of any edible non-fragrant oil (vegetable oil or grape-seed oil would do). Mix until the sugar turns transparent. Add 1-2 drops of pink food colouring and bubblegum fragrance to the mixture and mix again. The consistency of the scrub should be like wet sand and there should be no excess oil in the mixture.
3. Strawberry Lip Scrub
This lip scrub uses the goodness of strawberry which is a rich source of vitamin-C and ellagic acid. Ellagic acid is a great natural skin-lightening agent that works well on pigmentation.
How to Prepare: Mash 1 strawberry with the back of a spoon. Add ½ tablespoon honey and 1 ½ tablespoon brown sugar to this. Combine all the ingredients and store in the refrigerator and use within 5-7 days.
These were a few 100% natural DIY lip defoliator and moisturizer ideas. Hope you have found some helpful DIY to try at your home in the coming winter because in cold months lip problems seem to inflate a lot.
