Hi Everyone

Today I am going to review a product I cannot imagine putting my makeup on without. It is my beloved makeup remover, The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleaning Balm. It is a very popular makeup remover and quite deservingly, to say the least. So lets get to the review and find out why its one of my favourites.

Product Claims

Clinique claims about this product on their website “Lightweight makeup remover quickly dissolves tenacious eye and face makeups, sunscreens. Transforms from a solid balm into a silky oil upon application. Cleans thoroughly, rinses off completely. Non-greasy. Non-drying. Ophthalmologist Tested. For all skin types.”

My Review

The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm comes in a round purple-colored tub with a silver-colored lid. The packaging is quite sturdy albeit a little inconvenient for travelling due to its large size. But you can always transfer some balm into a smaller container for that purpose.

The product itself is an opaque white, thick textured balm that melts as soon as it comes in contact with the skin. Hence is very to spread. Efficiency wise, it is the best makeup remover I have come across yet. I mostly wear long-lasting and waterproof makeup products. This product is the only product(that I have tried) which removes even the last traces of my makeup so I don’t wake up with racoon eyes from leftover eye makeup the next day.

I was a little skeptical when I first bought it because of its thick balm like texture. I thought it wouldn’t suit my sensitive acne-prone skin. But since I have started using it, I have never looked at any other makeup remover. This is the second time I have purchased this product and that means a lot since I very rarely purchase the same product more than once.

But its not a perfect product. Atleast not for me. Because of its thick texture, I have to follow it up with my facewash. Otherwise, my sensitive skin starts to feel a little irritated. Its not a big issue since I always prefer to follow up makeup removers with my facewash. But I’ve mentioned it because I know of many girls who don’t and some of them may feel this sensitivity.

How to use it?

Take out a small amount of the product from the tub with freshly cleansed hands or better still, use a spatula to scoop it out. Spread it gently on your eyes and face and lightly massage for about 30-40 secs. You will notice your stubborn waterproof makeup starting to break, melt and spread. Now, take a damp cotton pad and gently wipe away the mess. Thats it! You are left with clean makeup-free skin. As per your preference, you may or may not follow up with your facewash.
