Beauty Favourites

Hey Guys

The month of October is over and I’ve been enjoying quite a few products lately. So I thought I’ll share some of them in this post. There are a few others I haven’t listed in this post. That’s because I started using them somewhat late last month and I’m not sure if I love them yet or not 😛  so I’ll share those with you in another post. And now back to the ones I’m sure I’ve been loving. Here we go:

1.The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo

You guys might probably know how much I’ve been wanting to try a shampoo that takes care of build-up on my oily scalp. Recently, I came across this shampoo and have been using it since. Although this shampoo is built for a dry scalp, it removes build-up from my oily scalp very efficiently! I don’t have any dandruff so I can’t say how much effect it has on that but if you’re having trouble with build-up and shampoos not cleaning your scalp effectively, then this is a must try. It does leave my dry hair drier so following up with a deep conditioner is a must.

2. theBalm Put A Lid On It Eyelid Primer

You must have seen this product in my haul post a few months ago. At that time, I used it once or twice, didn’t really care for it and tossed it in my stash. But recently I tried it again using it a different way and boy! I love this thing! It is now one of my must-haves. Even if I’m not wearing any eyeshadows, this product works wonderfully in mattifying my oily lids so my eyeliner does not transfer onto my lid.

3. MAC Face and Body Foundation

OMG you guys! I don’t know why I hadn’t tried this product for so long!!! I’ve walked into the MAC store and tried numerous foundations but somehow always skipped this one. Probably because I was under the impression that it is meant for someone with a near perfect skin (because of its sheer coverage) and the drier skin-types (whereas I have a pretty oily one). I’ll come up with a detailed review of this product in some time as I’m still experimenting with the best way to apply it but in short, if you haven’t already, you must try it out at the store. This is a wonderful product for an everyday use.

4. Colorbar Perfect Match Primer

I’ve been addicted to this product ever since I started using it! It controls my oily skin so well and makes my makeup last all day long. Read full review here.

5. The Body Shop Cheek Color in No. 10

When you are a makeup junkie, sometimes products get a back seat even if you love them. Yup that’s the story with this blush. I was obsessed with this blush and then I completely forgot about it and moved onto other blushes. Last month when I was clearing my stash, I re-discovered it and fell in love with it all over again. I believe The Body Shop has re-formulated this blush now and while I can’t say much about those ones, this is still one of the best blush (in terms of quality and shade) in my stash. The shade is a dusty rose one that will suit almost most Indian skintones.

6. The Body Shop Eye Elderflower Gel

I already raved about this product when I reviewed it (read here) so I’m not gonna bore you again but I love this product! It hydrates my under eye area so well and without any stickiness. It isn’t paraben-free but until I can find a paraben-free product that works as well as this, I’m gonna keep re-purchasing it.

7. Garnier White Complete Moisturizer

Okay to be frank, I’m not at all into products that have ‘fairness’ claims. I don’t think anyone needs to change their skin color plus I’m not comfortable with a product claiming to bleach my skin. That being said, this is a very good moisturizer. It is quite hydrating for my skin yet still manages to do so without any sort of oiliness or greasiness. Loving it! Read the full review here.

8. MAC Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous

This is a deep plum/purple shade and is perfect for fall/winter time. The formula belongs to MAC’s retro matte collection which explains its dry texture but on the plus side, because of this, the lipstick does not feather, bleed and stays intact for a long time. I’ve love wearing it in the evenings.

9. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sao Paulo

This is again a super matte lippie in a deep pink shade. The shade, although pink, is very versatile and goes with a lot of my dresses.

10. Revlon Colorburst Matte Lip Balm in Unapologetic

While I love wearing MAC’s Flat Out Fabulous when I’m going out in the evening, this has been my most reached-out shade for the daytime. Its bright shade lets me get away with minimal makeup on my eyes and it comes in really handy when I’m pressed for time (which has been quite a lot lately)! 😉 Full review here.

So these are some of my favourite products at the moment. What have you been loving lately? I’d love to know! Share in the comments below.

  1. I always wanted a good moisturizer, thanks for the Garnier review. I too have oily skin. I love your review of TBS eye Elderflower gel. Currently I am in love with the Korean masksheets 😀

  2. I will be checking the MAC Face and Body Foundation, even I used to skip this everytime, when SA was keen in showing me this,.. I have oily scalp, but this time have dandruff too, Need to check the The Body Shop Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. My sister uses this with TBS Banana conditioner. i need to try the same,.. Thanks for this post,…

  3. Great list of products Komal. I have been wanting to try some eye cream. I did not find this TBS under eye gel in the outlet in Singapore. Will have to ask someone to get it when they come from India.

  4. I have used four things from your collection:
Body shop ginger shampoo (great anti-dandruff shampoo, used it when I was not natural lifestyle fan), Nyx soft matte lip cream (pretty color, long staying), MAC face&body (extremely light, excellent foundation) and Garnier White skin(I hated this product. It left white color which showed up when I used to sweat. Whiteness does not really mean painting yourself white. I bought as a moisturizer but it failed). Great post. Revived my experience. 🙂

  5. Loved to read your favorites, I have used the TBS ginger shampoo and it helped in controlling my dandruff and lot, very effective
