Review
The product comes in a small tub packaging with a golden colored lid. It is compact, sturdy and light-weight which makes it quite convenient to travel with. As with all other Forest Essential products, the packaging feels and looks very luxurious! There is a separate stopper beneath the lid to keep the product inside the tub and prevent it from scattering around.
The ubtan comes in a fine powder form which needs to be mixed with yoghurt or rosewater as mentioned in the instructions on the packaging. The SA at the Forest Essentials store said it could also be mixed with aloe vera juice but so far I haven’t gotten a chance to try it with that. Personally, I prefer using it with yoghurt instead of rose water just because with yoghurt, it doesn’t dry out the skin at all and the skin actually feels nourished! But if you have a very oily skin, you might like the results with rose water much more.

It has a typical fragrance of multani mitti if you sniff it directly from the tub but once on the face, the fragrance is hardly detectable. The powder is filled with very fine granules so when you remove the ubtan, it provides a mild exfoliation and gets rid of dry skin on the face. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the ubtan to dry completely and during this time, it feels quite soothing on the face. After washing it off, the skin is left very clean, supple and radiant-looking.
I use it about twice a week and have noticed that it certainly keeps the sebum/oil production under control. Its regular use helps in preventing pimples by sucking out all the impurities from the skin but if you are looking for a treatment for the existing ones, this is not for you. I haven’t noticed any improvement in the skin texture or pigmentation until now but then, these things take time to show and I’ve only been using it for the past couple of weeks. For that, I’ll update this review when I’ve used it enough.

Overall Thoughts
The Forest Essentials Multani Mitti Facial Ubtan is a 2 in 1 ubtan + scrub which works quite well in cleaning the skin whilst maintaining its moisture content. It leaves the skin looking healthy, radiant, clean and supple. Use it for some weekend skin pampering 😀 Best suited for normal to combination skin. Recommended!

I was so tempted to buy this during my last visit to FE store (actually I want to grab anything that mentions anti pimple/anti acne/anti pigmentation on its label) but could not bring out the courage to pay Rs 600 for a product which is available for Rs 60 in normal beauty stores. May be FE adds “Bhagban ka Ashirvaad” in this product thats why its so costly 🙁
Haha..Forest Essentials is a luxury brand! But I’ll tell you one thing. Its not pure multani mitti and the results prove it 🙂
Oh really???? Thats why this normal multani miiti proved nothing but “mitti” on my skin. Big thanks…. <3
I added it to my must have list 🙂 good one

My pleasure babe 🙂
Hi Komal! I believe not all FE products are good, but this one sounds promising.
I love how smart and classy their packaging are designed.
Multani mitti is traditionally used by the women of the sub-continent for quite a long time. It is a good ingredient to enhance beauty.
