Hi Everyone!

Its tuesday and that means its time for another Tuesday Tips n Tricks post. In today’s post, I’ll be talking about some of the ways in which you can use makeup to instantly look a younger, more youthful version of yourself. Contrarily, if ignored, these makeup mistakes can make your skin and face look maturer than it actually is. Let’s get started.

USE A PRIMER

Open pores are a sign of mature skin. Using a primer to fill in the pores will help to create an illusion of a smoother, poreless skin.

KEEP THE SKIN DEWY

Dewy skin looks more youthful. So as a first step, moisturise everyday. Use a foundation that has a dewy finish. Illuminators and highlighting concealers are your best friend. Do remember though to look for products with very fine/negligibly visible shimmer because chunky and gritty shimmer particles will highlight the open pores and actually worsen the situation.

USE A PINK BLUSH

Pink blushes give a fun, youthful look to the skin. Its even better if the blush is a cream one rather than a powder.

CONCEAL THOSE DARK CIRCLES

Dark circles can instantly make you look much older than you actually are. So conceal any darkness underneath your eyes really well. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your skintone to instantly brighten up the area.

THICKER EYEBROWS

Thin eyebrows make you look more mature. So stop over-tweezing your eyebrows. If you don’t have naturally thick eyebrows, fake some with an eyebrow pencil/powder.

BRIGHT GLOSSY LIPS

Bright glossy lip colors give a much more youthful appearance as compared to earthy-toned matte shades.

GO EASY ON CONTOUR

I’m all for a chiseled and contoured face but the truth is, a rounder/ less chiseled face gives a much younger appearance . The fact behind it is that as you grow older, you tend to lose fat from your face. And heavy contouring can have the same effect. So go easy on the contouring part if you want to go for a more youthful look.

DON’T OVERDO POWDER

Caking on powder ultimately makes it settle into the fine lines/ wrinkles on the face and exaggerates their appearance. Use a makeup setting spray instead which apart from setting the makeup will also restore the dewiness of your skin.

CREATE ROUNDER EYES

Rounder eyes give a younger, more innocent look. Highlight their roundness by defining the crease at the centre of the eye rather than the outer corners. Curling your eyelashes and applying mascara will also open up the eyes and enhance the effect.

LESS FOUNDATION

Apply foundation only to create a thin, uniform base on the skin and avoid packing on layers of it. Let your natural skin peek through. If you have blemishes to cover, put on a concealer to cover those areas.
