Hey Guys!
We’re almost over with the first month of this year so I thought I’d show you what I shopped for this month. You guys know if there is one obsession I have in the makeup department, its lipsticks! And so as expected, it got a bunch of them. Well not exactly lipsticks but lip shades. Also, almost everything I got this month was either re-purchases (which I haven’t shown here) or things I’d been wanting to try for a long time. So let me show you what I got.

Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Pencil in Brick Rose: There’s been a hype around these 9 to 5 lip pencils from Lakme that they’re one of the best ones out there in the market. So I’d been wanting to try them for such a long time but each time I went to the counter, I was told they were out of stock. I finally got a hold of them on nykaa.com and one of the shades I got was this beautiful pinkish nude lipliner in the shade Brick Rose. It goes with almost every lip shade I own and I’m totally loving it!
Lakme 9 to 5 Lip Pencil in Red Alert: While I was looking through the shades, I came across this red lip pencil named Red Alert. I’m not much of a red-lips person (not yet atleast!) but I do own some red lipsticks this could be paired up with. With so much rave about this product and 5% off (:P) I decided to go for this as well. The shade is a stunning cool-toned deep red. What is even more stunning is the quality of these lip liners. They are buttery soft and not at all drying. I remember being quite a fan of Lakme’s 9 to 5 range of products a few years ago and I’m happy that Lakme has kept up with the quality.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation: With my quest for a good full coverage foundation still going on, I stumbled upon this product. Originally, I was eyeing the Makeup Forever Hd Foundation but the shade that I wanted was out of stock. That is when I decided to go for Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Foundation and boy am I happy! I love how this foundation feels so light-weight yet gives a full coverage in the very first layer itself. And that too without cakiness of any sort. It is too soon to say if this will be my HG foundation (wore it only twice) but so far, its been a great experience. For those of you wondering, I have this in the shade 2W2 Rattan.

Maybelline Colorsensational Lip Gradation in the shade Mauve1: If you’re looking for the perfect ‘kylie jenner’ lippie but are on a budget, I highly suggest you to go to the Maybelline counter and try this shade on. Maybelline recently launched this range in India and it is kind of a renamed version of the popular Lip Blur crayons available abroad. The crayon has a slightly slippery formula but it sets to a matte finish within a minute or so. The shade may seem dark for lighter complexions so do try it out at the store before you purchase it. Full review coming up soon.

MAC Lip Pencil in Soar: Speaking of the ‘Kylie Jenner’ lip, this lip pencil from MAC needs no introduction after having been made quite-so-popular by her. Its always out of stock at the MAC stores but my curiosity had taken the better of me so I kept on trying. And this time I was finally able to get a hold of this pencil. It is much darker than I’d expected, kind of like a dark dusty rose-pink but it goes really well with the whole winter vibe!
MAC Lip Pencil in Whirl: I was a little skeptical of getting this lipliner because it looked too dark for my taste. I was right! It is a cross between brown and mauve, quite dark from what I’m used to wearing but I love the fact that it helps me create the perfect shadow around my mouth while wearing my nude lipsticks. It also seems a little drier than Soar but I’ve only used it a couple of times and I’ll need to do some more testing to say anything conclusive about it.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime: These cold winds have been playing a havoc on my hair. My hair felt stripped and deprived of moisture! So I went to the Kerastase salon last week to re-stock one of my old favourites, the Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense (read the review here) and saw this baby sitting up on one of the shelves. I’ve been curious to try this product ever since it launched but given the number of leave-in serums already sitting on my bathroom shelf, I always skipped getting it. This time I decided to get it and test if it could work its magic on my dry ends. The product is definitely thicker and oilier than regular serums.
