Review
The masquintense comes in small plastic tub form with an orange colored lid. The packaging is sturdy and lightweight so it’s easy for travel. The pearly-white product inside is pleasantly scented, the fragrance of which lasts for a couple of hours after washing my hair. Texture of the product is like that of a lotion. It is it thick enough that it does not drip but not so thick either that it cannot be spread evenly.

There are 2 varieties of this product, one for thick hair and the other one for fine hair (the one I am reviewing). Unless you are sure about which suits your hair, the hair specialist at a nearby Kerastase salon can help you decide better. The Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense for Fine Hair is specifically designed for fine, dry hair. I use this product about 1 to 2 times a week, alternating it with other conditioners. It spreads evenly and you only need a small dollop of the product to cover your mid-lengths and ends of the hair. Sometimes I also like to use it as a pre-treatment mixed with coconut oil before I begin washing my hair. In my experience, the key to using this mask is to let it sit on your hair for more than 5 minutes. You can notice a marked difference in the results when you let it work for about 10-12 minutes as compared to just a couple of minutes. After 10-12 minutes, almost the entire product has been absorbed into the hair and there is very little of it left behind to wash off. On the other hand, it performs just like any other regular conditioner if you keep it for a couple of minutes. So if I’m in a hurry, I skip using it (well, because its not exactly cheap to waste around) and use my other hair conditioners.

The hair feels hydrated and is left quite silky, shiny and soft to touch. It does not weigh-down the hair, neither does it cause any extra hairfall, which I know is a problem I face with quite a few other masks and conditioners. It also has some detangling effect on the hair. I love touching my hair after using this product and its one of my favourite hair masks/deep conditioning treatments! At the first instance, price does seem to hurt but I’ve been using this product for about a year and as you can see in the pictures, its only now that the product is starting to get over.

Overall Thoughts
Kerastase Nutritive Masquintense for Fine Hair works like a charm for dry hair, leaving it soft, silky, shiny and detangled! It might not work for extremely dry hair though. The only key to using it is to let it work for about 10-12 minutes before you wash it off. Since it is a high-end brand, it does seem quite expensive at first but given that you only need a small amount of it at a time, the product lasts for many months at a time. Highly recommended!
P.S- I’m not sure about other brands but Kerastase products don’t seem to work at all if its not the right match for your hair type. I can say because I’ve had my share of wrong product decisions. So do keep that in mind when you purchase this or any other haircare product from the brand. For reference, I have long wavy, dry hair.

Thats a great tip! I usually keep my hair masks on for more than 10 minutes and they do wonders .. but Rs.2900/- seems too much for a mask 🙁
