I had a pretty no-fuss haircare routine before I got my hair coloured for the first time. But since then, even though I have an oily scalp, my lengths have kept pretty dry. So for this reason, I am always on the lookout for great conditioners. And today, I’ll be reviewing one such product that I picked up on one of my shopping expeditions 😀 It is the Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak. I picked it up from one of the Kiehl’s Stores and the product claims looked quite impressive to me at the time. So without further ado, let’s check out more about this product.

Packaging
It comes in a white plastic tub. The tub, although leak-proof, might not be suitable for travel because of its big size. The tub packaging can be a bit unhygienic but given the consistency of the product, its a much better option than having a bottle. Speaking of consistency, the conditioner has a thick lotion-like consistency which spreads easily onto the length of the hair. You only need a little product at a time and the whole tub should you for several months.
Fragrance
It has a strong olive scent to it. Some people may like it, but personally, I’m not a big fan of it and find it quite overpowering.

The Results
And now for the big question. Does it hold true to its big claims? Well, before I answer that, let me tell you how I use it. After I have shampooed my hair and squeezed out the excess water, I take about a scoop of the conditioner and apply it onto the lengths of my hair. I then let it sit for about 3- 4 minutes before washing it off with cold water. It rinses off easily without leaving any residue.
I feel that this product does lend a certain amount of softness to my hair. My hair feels hydrated but not to a great extent. It does not weigh the hair down but it doesn’t impart any special shine either. I’ve been using this product for about 5-6 months and I don’t think it actually ‘repairs’ the hair. The results (however subtle they are!) last for about 1-2 days and then my hair is back to its usual dryness.

Overall Thoughts
I really wanted to love this product. But it just doesn’t deliver as well as I would like it to. I’m not saying its bad but the results are pretty ‘average’. There is nothing extraordinary. It does lend some softness and hydration to the hair but the effect is pretty short-lived. It is a good conditioner but certainly not a must-have.
