Hi Everyone
I’m reviewing another one of my MAC lipsticks today. This shade is called Mocha and it is from MAC’s Satin range of lipsticks. If you are a MAC enthusiast, this shade probably needs no introduction to you. It is one of the most popular neutral lipsticks, especially for Indian skintones.

Review
The product comes in a black, sturdy packaging that is typical of MAC lipsticks from this range. It has a very faint vanilla scent, much less than the other MAC lipsticks I own.
The lipstick belongs to MAC’s satin range of lipsticks. That means the finish of this lipstick is supposed to be in between the mattes and the glossy ones. Although I personally find that its finish tends to fall more on the matte side than on the glossy one. Fortunately, because of this, it lasts for quite a few hours on the lips. On my lips, its stays for about 5-6 hours with light snacks or drinks in between. But it does not survive a meal, after which you do feel the need to re-apply. The formula is not moisturizing but not drying either.

The lipstick is very highly pigmented. Personally, I would have preferred if this exact shade would have belonged to MAC’s creemsheen range with a little less pigmentation and a more glossy effect. But there is no denying the fact that the intense pigmentation of this lipstick would cover any lip pigmentation that you might have in one single swipe. This lipstick is quite popular amongst a lot of ladies and for good reason. The pigmentation is spot-on, the longevity is a good solid 5-6 hours and the shade will suit a range of skin tones. Talking about the shade, it is one of the most unique shades of brown I have come across. MAC describes it as a peachy yellow-brown. On me it looks more of an orangey/peachy brown. Although unique, the shade is neutral enough to be suitable as a perfect office–wear lipstick. It will suit a wide range of skintones from light to dark. I personally feel that when worn to its full intensity, the shade looks a little flat on me. So I dust some powder onto the centre of my lips which creates a nice gradient and gives this shade a lovely, retro look.

*The lipstick looks a little more brown in person than in the picture above.
Overall Thoughts
MAC Satin Lipstick in Mocha is a unique yet wearable shade of brown that will suit a wide range of skintones. The finish of this lipstick is semi-matte. It is very highly pigmented and lasts for a good number of hours. If you love wearing brown lipsticks and are looking a different shade of brown, do give this a try. Recommended!

Hehe..me too! 😀
You look lovely, perfect to pair with smoky eye 🙂
Thank you 🙂
Gorgeous color…apt for everyday look ?
It sure is 🙂
It looks lovely on you Komal <3 I heard of this shade to be one of the best nudes for Indian Skin tone. Also, Choco-latte from Maybelline Colorshow is known as the closest budget dupe of this lippie!! If you have choco-latte, please do a comparison post dear <3
Hey Anurima! I know it looks light in the picture but in person, this is definitely not a nude for me, a lovely neutral though. I guess it could work as a nude for deeper complexions 🙂 I don’t have choco-latte at the moment sweetie, but whenever I do, I’ll make sure to do a comparision post.
The shade is so good. I like your taste of picking up lipstick shades Komal. And yes you are looking gorgeous! <3

Hey! You look so pretty! What’s the difference between mac mocha AA2 and mac mocha A65?
Hey Disha! I honestly have no idea. A simple google search gives many different codes for Mac Mocha- AA2, A65 and even AC4. If you’re concerned, you could send MAC India an email and see what they say 🙂
