Today I thought I’ll show you my makeup essentials that I use on a day to day basis. All of them are summer appropriate and I can wear them without the need for touch-ups or worrying about them melting in the harsh heat. There might be one or two other products that I might use if I have some time on hand but since I do not wear them everyday, I haven’t included them here.
1. Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector
Although also a skincare product, I just tend to use it as the first step to my makeup to blur the open pores on my face. It works fantastically as a primer and create a smooth base for my makeup to glide.
2. MAC Prolongwear Concealer-NC30
No matter how much the temperature rises outdoors, this concealer will not budge! It stays put for the entire day and maybe even more but I haven’t tested it for that long. It is a full-coverage concealer and is quite a boon for oily-skinned girls.
3. The Body Shop Kabuki Brush
As I had previously described this brush in this post here, it is a very densely packed brush, perfect for powder foundations. Also, because of its small size, is very easy to carry in the handbag.
4. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation-NC35
I love this powder! It has a light to medium coverage (depending on how you apply it) which is just amazing for a powder. Because of the coverage it provides, it can easily replace your regular foundation. With the TBS Kabuki Brush, it takes about 15-20 seconds max to do the full face. The shade matches my skintone perfectly and being a powder, it controls the oil on my skin nicely. It does tend to look powdery sometimes if I apply a little too much and that is why I have MAC Fix Plus in my makeup kit.
5. MAC Fix Plus
MAC’s Fix Plus has many uses depending on how and at what step it is used. But in my daily routine, just one spray is all it takes to take away any cakiness or powdery-look of my makeup. Must-try for girls who use powder foundations!
6. Inglot Eyelash Curler
Whether or not I decide to wear a mascara, I always curl my eyelashes. It makes a big difference to my eyes as you can see here.
7. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion
It is everything I look for in an eye pencil- matte jet black color which does not melt off in the summer heat and stays put for almost the entire day. A good dupe for this is the Revlon Colorstay One Stroke Defining Eyeliner pencil which I used to use before this one. But the Revlon one irritated my eyes when I used it on my waterline. This Urban Decay one, on the other hand, has never irritated my eyes.
8. Revlon Matte Balms or NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams
I usually tend to prefer matte lip colors in summers. And both these lip stains are very light weight and stay put for a long time.
That’s it for my current favourite makeup essentials! All of them are quite convenient to use which lets me get my makeup ready in less than 5 minutes. What are your makeup essentials this summer? Do share in the comments below.
