This is my 50th post on the blog today! I am so excited 🙂 When I started this blog, I didn’t think I’d go beyond the first 2-3 posts but yet here I am. And that is a big achievement for me. And the credit goes to you guys! For the love and support you have shown in me.

So on the occasion of the blog’s 6 month anniversary (which happens to be this coming month), I have a surprise planned for you all. Read on till the end of this post to know what it is. Hopefully, you’ll like it all! And now without further ado let’s get to today’s post. I’ll be reviewing a stunning pink gloss by NYX today. It is the NYX Butter Gloss in the shade Cupcake.

Review

NYX Butter Glosses come in a color-coded packaging making the whole process of finding them much easier if you happen to have a bunch of them. This particular shade ‘Cupcake’ comes in a pink colored plastic packaging which matches the shade of the actual gloss.

The texture of the gloss is on the thicker side but goes on pretty evenly on the lips. It is a tad bit sticky but not majorly so. The gloss has a faint vanilla scent which is hardly detectable on the lips. It has no taste whatsoever. The product is averagely pigmented and gives a medium coverage to the lips. On its own, it might not be able to cover very pigmented lips and you might need a lipstick/stain beneath it to cover that. It doesn’t have any visible shimmer particles yet lends the lips a mirror-like shine which makes your lips look absolutely luscious! Not only that, the gloss does not just sit on the lips but actually hydrates the lips to a great extent. This is such a boon for girls such as myself who have dry lips.

The shade of the gloss is a warm pink shade which will suit a wide range of complexions. On my lips, this gloss stays for around 3.5 to 4 hours without food or drinks. Ofcourse, as with all other glosses, it will not survive a meal.

Overall Thoughts

This gloss has almost everything one would look for in a lip gloss. It has a beautiful girly pink shade, stays for a decent amount of time on the lips, gives a mirror like shine to the lips without any visible shimmer and one of the very few glosses who actually hydrate the lips. It has a medium coverage which makes it good to wear by itself or on top of a lipstick. For anyone who loves glosses, this is a must try!
