Hey Guys

How was your weekend? Mine was great! It was my birthday over the weekend and I was on a huge shopping bout. Amongst other things, I went crazy with some Vero Moda shopping, who BTW have a mid-season sale going on if you wanna check it out. Do let me know in the comments below if you’d like to see a haul post on that. Also, I bought a bunch of NYX goodies, the package of which arrived just in time. I’ll be doing another haul post where I’ll talk more about them. Anyway, enough of rambling! Coming to today’s post, I’ll be reviewing one of my favourite bath accessories, The Body Shop Exfoliating Bath Gloves. After I started using an epilator last year, I noticed a huge increase in the number of ingrown hair. To get a hold of the situation, I started looking for a great exfoliating body wash/scrub when these babies caught my eye. To know why they’ve been my favourite ever since, keep reading..

Review

The Body Shop Exfoliating Bath Gloves come in a pair. They come in just one universal size and the first time I saw them in the store, I thought they wouldn’t fit my hands. But they tend to loosen up a little when wet and fit the hands quite well. They also have an elastic band attached at the wrist which prevents them from coming off in the bath.

One Individual The Body Shop Exfoliating Bath Glove

These gloves are a great way to prevent ingrown hair that tends to occur after epilating, shaving or waxing. In my experience, they give a much better result at preventing ingrown hair and sloughing off dead skin cells than any body scrub I’ve ever used till now. They leave the skin very soft and smooth. Although I must warn you that it is quite easy to go overboard with these gloves. So make sure you apply a very gentle pressure (as much as of a light touch) and use a circular massage-like motion when using these. Other than the exfoliation part, they also increase the lather of your body wash or soap, true to what is claimed by the brand. I’ve heard people using these for their face as well. But in my opinion, the texture of these gloves is a bit rough for the facial skin and I wouldn’t suggest them for the face, especially if you have sensitive skin.

How I Like To Use Them

After I wear both the gloves, I wet them thoroughly with water (you can use just one at a time too, depending on your preference). I then pour a few drops of my shower gel/body wash on my skin. If I have neither at hand, I’ll just take a soap and rub it over the gloves. I then massage my skin very lightly in a circular motion and keep adding a few drops of water. I do this for about 1-2 minutes, rinse off the area and move on to the next one.

After I’m done using them, I remove them and thoroughly wash them with water(which takes a maximum of 2 minutes) and leave them to dry.

Overall Thoughts

The Body Shop Exfoliating Bath Gloves do their job very well. Great at exfoliating the skin and preventing ingrown hair, they are a great alternative to physical and chemical scrubs sans the chemicals. Very highly recommended! Just remember to use a very light pressure and not more than 1-2 minutes on a certain area initially or you’ll end up hating me for recommending them to you 😛
