Hey Guys!
With the beauty industry going crazy over the newest trend of strobing, it probably is not the best time to talk about about a contouring powder. But if you’re like me and still prefer to go the contouring way, then this review should be helpful for you. I’ll be talking about the theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer which you must have seen in my June Shopping Haul. I’ve been using this product for almost a month now and here are my thoughts on it.

Review
The product comes in a unique and innovative cardboard packaging. I love how cute and adorable the packing is! Besides the bronzer, a mirror is also included in the product which actually comes in quite handy sometimes. The lid of the packing closes with a strong magnetic click. For someone who doesn’t know better, the product looks more like a little book rather than a cosmetic product. Although the packaging is quite sturdy by itself, it comes with an outer cover (which looks exactly like the actual packaging) to hold it together and prevent any accidental opening.

The powder is very soft and finely milled. It blends very easily. It has a medium pigmentation which is buildable. The buildable quality is quite welcome as it allows you to build its intensity slowly and avoid a severe brown line across your face. The shade is a muddy neutral/cool toned brown. In contrast to most other bronzing powders in the market, it doesn’t have any red undertone to it whatsoever! This alone sets this product apart from the others as the effect it provides looks really natural and imitates an actual shadow. The finish of the powder is almost matte, leaning slightly towards a sheen but its nothing drastic. The product, although named as a bronzer, serves as a a perfect contouring powder. It will suit a majority of complexions, unless you are too pale or too dark. As for its staying power, it stays put for as much time you have your makeup on.

Overall Thoughts
This is the contouring powder I had been waiting for! The shade, a matte muddy brown, is perfect as a contour. The coverage is buildable and the quality of the powder is great. And of course, nothing can beat the adorable packaging 😀 The shade is universal and will suit a majority of skintones. If you’ve been disappointed with all the contouring powders you’ve tried so far, you must give this product a try. Highly recommended!
