Hey Guys!
First of all, I really wanna apologise for MIA on the blog for the past few weeks. Its been really busy and I’ve had my hands full! But hopefully, you’ll see more of me in the coming week(s). Anyway, coming to today’s post, I’m going to review the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light. The moisturizer is recommended for sensitive and dehydrated normal to combination skin. Since the weather has started changing, my skin now needs a little more hydration than normal. So I picked this up on my shopping trip last month. It usually takes me about 2-3 weeks of continuous usage to form an opinion about a skincare product but this product is an exception. To know why that is so, keep reading..

Review
The product comes in a translucent-blue, glass tub packaging. I’m not a big fan of the packaging because even though it is small, it is slightly on the bulkier side. Plus the tub packaging makes it unhygienic to scoop out the product. The actual product inside is a heavily–scented white-colored lotion. It has the scent of a typical cold cream and I personally have no issue with it but it might not be for someone with a sensitive nose. The texture of the product is that of a lotion with a moderate consistency.
And now onto the results, i.e my experience with the product. But before I go on about that, let me describe my skin-type. I generally have an oily skin which becomes combination (with a dry T-zone) in the fall and winter months. Other than that, it is sensitive and acne-prone too. So here’s my review of this product based on my skin-type.

Results: When I first apply this product, it feels like a lotion. But immediately after, it starts feeling heavy and my skin feels ‘suffocated’. In contrast to Vichy’s claims, my complexion starts looking slightly greasy and dull which is interesting because I don’t have a dull skin to begin with. As for the moisturising part, it moisturizes the skin averagely and I didn’t experience the ’48-hour hydration’ effect. And now for the biggest catch with this product. After I’ve applied this product, I get tiny red bumps all over my face within the next 24-hours. I can actually see that my pores get clogged and inflamed. I really had high hopes for this product and wasn’t hoping to experience such bad results because a) the product claims to be non-comedogenic and hypo-allergenic and b) it is from one of my favourite and trusted skincare brands! So I thought of discontinuing its use and letting my skin calm down. After it calmed down in a couple of days, I tried it only on my dry T-zone area (which BTW almost never breaks out) and the same thing happened again. I had tiny red bumps on my nose and forehead. For the purpose of the review, I tested it for the third time but sadly, the results were yet again the same. So I can say with certainty that something in this product does not suit my skin and clogs my pores. I have changed my diet recently and it has been working wonders for my skin in calming and clearing it out. So the effects of this product are all the more disappointing!

Overall Thoughts
Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light, quite opposite to its name, feels heavy on the skin and might not work for oily to combination skintypes. Because of its slightly greasy finish, it makes my skin appear dull. Although on the plus side, the product is paraben-free. As for the moisturization part, it moisturizes the skin averagely which does not justify its price tag. Even though the product claims to be non-comedogenic, it manages to clog my skin and break me out. Do keep in mind though, that everyone’s skin reacts to a certain product in different ways and the only way to know exactly if it works for you, is to try it out for yourself . So if you’re considering purchasing this product, I’d suggest to first get a sample and try it yourself for 2-3 days. As for me, I’ll probably end up using it as a hand/foot cream. I might try it out again in the winter months and if I do, I’ll update this post for you guys.

So my search for a good moisturiser continues! Have you found your HG moisturiser yet? Any suggestions for my skintype? Share in the comments below.
Opps !! It claims to work on sensitive skin but still broke you out! Definitely going to give it a miss! Thanks for sharing your honest review Komal 🙂
Btw, please share your new diet plan if possible 🙂 <3
I have this sample sized product and didn’t use it as I never tried this brand. But it’s good that I didnt try as I too have oily skin which becomes combination in winters. Thanks for sharing the review. I will probably dump even the sample sized product I have with me.
I was waiting for this review from you. Thanks dear. I have couple of sample of this let me use those only. I am not going to get the full size. I have extremely acne prone skin. Only the Night Detox has worked well for me.
oh god such bad results from a brand like vichy and it’s pricey too
definitely not worth buying anyways please share your diet plan on blog soon….:)
i actually wanted to buy this after your haul post but waited for the review…. so sad that it reacted bad with your skin. I had a similar experience with one of night creams I tried last month..
As soon as I saw silicone in it’s ingredient list, I knew that it wouldn’t work for me. I have sensitive acne prone skin and silicones breaks me out badly. Maybe it’s same for you. Currently, I am using Innisfree green tea balancing cream and it’s love. 😀 I don’t think it’s my HG but it’s the best daily mosituriser I have used so far 🙂
That maybe it Madhur! I’ll probably do my research on it now 🙂 Hey thanks for sharing your moisturiser. I’ll check it myself too <3
You are welcome. It comes in 3 variant so you can try others too. 🙂
Great! Thanks 🙂
Silicon is the reason for break outs..better to avoid products with silicon in them ? Nice review sweets ?
vichy was one of my favorite brand..sad this one was a miss hun 🙁
I thought this moisturizer was going to be a hit product but it failed. Liked your honest review girl! ?
Oh dear..I am so sorry it didnt work for you. I hate product which makes my face greasy and suffocating…I am skipping this one.
Thanks for the review.

OMG Komal ! This was a sure dud for your skin type. Its really disheartening to see such after effects having bought an expensive product.
I love Vichy products.. so its really shocking that you have had such a bad reaction to their product.. I am really tensed to use my products now since you have got such a bad reaction to them. The red bumps sound terrible.. I am so sorry for you hun! hope you are better now xx
Thought it would work for oily skin. Sad it doesn’t.
i am looking for a good face cream for my super dry & hyper sensitive skin… earlier i was using FE eternal youth formula but after the price rise i am planning to switch .. i was considering Vichy Aqaulia Thermal range but 🙁 disappointed..
Some of the products in this range are actually quite good 🙂 Like I absolutely love their foaming facewash! That’s why I was hoping this moisturizer too would work for me 🙁
Hi ..I have normal skin without any pimples or blemish. My dermatologist gave me a free sample of this product. When I applied it ..I felt a tingling sensation and my skin started looking v full n greasy..Next morning I woke up with 12 red big bumps all over my face ? had to rush to my doc again..And he claimed this product to b non allergic ..Thanks to ur post ..I’m now convinced that it’s this cream which gave me those bumps…
Hi Reshma! Yes I think this cream does have something that causes little bumps 🙁 Glad you found the review useful!
Hi can you please suggest me face cream for combination skin .i have oily n dry both I have been using L’Oréal youth code for so long but now I wanna change it.please suggest me something for a combi skin.thank u.
Hey Anchal! Since summer is around the corner, I’m assuming you’d want something hydrating for the drier areas yet non-greasy at the same time. Have you tried the Lotus Alpha Moist moisturizer? It’s my go-to moisturizer for the summers. If that does not work, you can also look into Olay 7 in 1 Day cream and Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief for more hydrating ones; and clean and clear oil free moisturizer/ L’oreal hydrafresh if you’d like something lighter. Let me know how it goes!
