Vichy is one brand I turned to years ago when I was suffering from stubborn acne that just wouldn’t go away. And while the underlying root was hormonal, the products from Vichy’s Normaderm range did quite help to control it. Since then, I’ve always had a trust built up with this range. So when I first purchased this product, I didn’t think twice before purchasing it. But it was the smaller packaging I bought at that time. I quite liked the product and when it finished, I went ahead to purchase this new, bigger version. Read on to know what I liked about this product and if you should give it a try too.

REVIEW

The scrub comes in a plastic tube packaging with a flip-open cap. The packaging is pretty mundane but serves the purpose well. It is light-weight and sturdy so is ideal for travelling. Although if you are thinking of travelling with it, the smaller sized tube might be a better option as this one is a little on the bigger side.

The cleanser+scrub+mask is a clay-based, greenish-white paste. It is densely packed with tiny, green-colored scrubbing granules. The product has a mild fragrance which is quite refreshing! It has never broken me out or caused any irritation and my sensitive skin is quite comfortable using it. It is supposed to work in 3 ways and I‘ll be reviewing the product separately for its each individual use.

As a Cleanser– Frankly I almost never use this as a cleanser. This is because it is packed with scrubbing granules and since I like to cleanse my skin twice a day, this product would be way too harsh if used for this purpose. Also, this is clay-based and using it that often would dry out the skin too much.

As a Scrub– The product is loaded with tiny granules which are rounded and not at all harsh. They provide a good exfoliation and get rid of all the dead skin cells on the face revealing a clean, glowing skin underneath. Since this is a clay-based product, it isn’t hydrating but doesn’t leave the skin super dry too. As with most other scrubs, you do need a light moisturizer afterwards. Using it as a scrub is personally my favourite use of this product and I use this about 2 times a week.

As a Mask– As a mask, this product absorbs any excess oils from the skin, purifies it and thus is a boon for oily skintypes. Being a clay mask with additional salicylic acid, it acts as a mild treatment and prevents pimples from occurring. It cleans well and doesn’t leave any residue behind. When used as a mask, this product leaves my skin a little drier than using it as a scrub.

OVERALL THOUGHTS

Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 Cleanser+Scrub+Mask is a a boon for oily-skinned people when used as a scrub and/or a mask. This multi-tasking product cleanses and refreshes the skin quite well. The tiny scrubbing granules get rid of all the dead skin cells on the face and gently polish the skin surface, thus making it a great weekly addition to your skincare regimen. Salicylic acid and clay as ingredients also provide a mild pimple-preventing action. Highly recommended to anyone with an oily acne-prone skin!
